Hatteras Yachts commitment began 60 years ago when the company’s founder, Willis Slane who envisioned a new breed of fishing boat. One strong enough to tame the waves off Cape Hatteras. Two strong currents collide near Cape Hatteras: pride and perseverance. Unforgiving seas where for hundreds of years, dreams sacrificed and where legends were born. What followed was the birth of a legend beginning with, the 41-foot fiberglass yacht named the Knit Wits that revolutionized the industry, Hatteras then served notice that their yachts would now be the standard to which all others were judged above & below the waterline.
The uncompromising union of inspired design, breakthrough innovation and unmatched craftsmanship. Hatteras state that it is simply the right way to build a yacht.
The current owners have enjoyed coastal cruising the boat here locally in S. Texas Gulf waters although state that it's now time for a new chapter.
